Capstone mood boards

 


These are all the mood boards I used as inspiration for the idea of the game's story. Most being a dark colour scheme, I mixed this with the colour of the clothing to emphasise the brighter clothes. 


This shows the clothing I wanted my main characters to wear. I would like to make the protagonist wear darker colours in contrast to the other characters having lighter colours.

When I was looking at the Chakkri, I also discovered it is very similar to Cambodian wedding attire, though there are some smaller differences. There is some debate over this, specifically with the Cambodian Barbie, as some people say the dress is from Thai traditional dress, and others say it's Cambodian. This is most likely due to the shared history, religion, and traditional purpose.

The influence of the Thai Ayutthaya Kingdom on the Khmer Empire was also one of the reasons they could have similar attire. 



This is how I would like the environment of their old house to look: a lot of dark wood features with big windows, and the house on stilts. 

Story of the game
The game starts off with both characters (Malee and Lawan) involved in a flashback. Following this it the details one of the characters death (Lawan) , and the other character (Malee) finds it suspicious and wants to find the real reason for her death and to reunite with her ghost. 

As she is doing this, she meets other ghosts trying to stop her from finding out the truth, and some are there to help her, whilst others hinder. This is all set in their old house as she is looking at different places to try and find clues and old memories.

Both characters are from popular rich backgrounds which is why I decided to use this style of clothing for them as they have to put themselves out there for the people that look up to them. Once the character dies, the other character will find out she died due to their rich families and them not being accepting of their relationship.

These are the thumbnails for both characters. The one with the flower in her hair I tried to have a brighter colour palette and keep her hair up. The other character I wanted to look darker with messy hair and minimal expression. I chose to do this as the one with the flower in her hair has a happier and brighter personality. So I decided to make her use a lighter colour palette and a happier expression. I also chose a wide range of hair styles I went with a hair style that was up and tidy meaning she spends a lot more time on how she looks and her presentation. Ghost Character

  This is the mood board I made for this character. I wanted the colour green to be the main point for this, because in all the adaptions I have read about, there is a big point of her being green or her outfit being green.  She is also known in all these stories as a beautiful woman some say she has scars on her face and some believe she looked how she did when she died. Colour thumbnails

  This is the character I wanted to have a brighter colour palette and her hair up with a flower in her hair. The colours that the majority of people liked was the orange and pink. I would like to combine both orange and pink, therefore I showed that here and have a darker pink belt with a lighter pink top and orange skirt.  This is the character with the darker colour palette and her hair down. The majority of people liked the 4th one with a slightly lighter top.
